“Go, Moron!”

Apparently, the white Mustang behind me at the stop sign didn’t appreciate my taking an extra second to make sure no cars were coming before I drove through the intersection.

After they yelled at me, they revved their engine and flew around me, almost hitting me in their effort to get ahead. And guess what? We ended up stopped behind traffic at the same stop sign not two minutes later. Their anger and impatience got them nowhere except for one car’s length ahead of me.

When I relayed this story to my husband, he said, “Wow, makes you wonder what’s going on in their lives to make them act like that.” That statement made me stop and think.

It’s 2020. There’s a global pandemic and a Presidential election. Rioting and looting continue in major cities. Tensions are high. People are stressed, and anger is coming out like never before. Total strangers are yelling at each other at the grocery store over masks.

Many, many people have lost their jobs. They worry over how they are going to pay rent and feed their families. My husband got laid off immediately when the shutdowns started. It was a scary and stressful situation. Thankfully he is back to work, but now we know that his job is not guaranteed.
